Despite a 1-0 win over Houston Dash with three points, the Orlando Pride fell just short of a playoff spot. NJ/NY Gotham FC drew the Kansas City Current 2-2, and Angel City FC advance with a 5-1 win over the Portland Thorns. As a result, the Pride finished tied on points with Angel City and Gotham for fifth but fell short on goal differential.

Julie Doyle entered the match in the 70th minute. In the 77th minute, Marta made an attempt to connect with Doyle by lifting a ball into the box. Doyle made a diving effort to get her head on the ball, but it was just out of reach.
In the 84th minute, Doyle received a sideline ball at the half-line from Strom. Doyle dribbled upfield and quickly sent a bending ball into the Houston box, where it met the run of Marta. Marta beats Dash's defender, Katie Lind, to the ball. As Marta slowed her run near the end-line, Lind fouled her from behind. The referee awarded the Pride a late penalty chance, and after the VAR check, Marta stepped up to take the PK. She confidently shot the ball to the left side of the Dash's keeper, Campbell, who dived to save it but couldn't prevent it from going through her outstretched hands. This gave the Pride a late 1-0 lead.
After 90 minutes of regular time, eight minutes were added. In the second minute of stoppage time, Marta sent Doyle a lifted ball from a free kick near the half-line. Doyle settled the ball at the left sideline, turned, and dribbled upfield. She beat her defender with a stutter step, continued her dribble towards the end line, and crossed the ball back to the feet of Summer Yates inside the box. Yates tried to control the ball, but it went to Larroquette, who touched it forward behind Houston's back line. Yates made a sliding attempt and got a shot off, but it went over the crossbar.
In the third minute of stoppage time, Marta connected a through pass to the run of Julie Doyle. Doyle carried the ball into the Houston box and went 1v1 against her defender. Doyle faked left and then cut right, taking a shot. Campbell came out to the top of the six, putting a hand on it to make the initial save. As the ball dropped on rebound it bounced up to Adriana, the Brazilian chested the ball down, took a touch, and then took a shot that landed into the arms of Campbell for a second save on the play. Julie Doyle's assists Adriana's goal for a 2-0 lead for the Pride in the 32nd minute. "I saw Marta get it, and whenever Marta gets it on her left foot, that means I got to run into the backspace because I know that she can find me through, and that's what she did," Doyle said about the play leading to the goal. "I saw Adriana had a ton of space in behind because they were really high, and Adriana is so fast, and I'm just like, all I have to do is get it to her, and I know that she'll do great things." The Pride opened the scoring just 39 seconds into the match with a goal from Ally Watt. In the 52nd minute, NC Matsukubo scored the only goal for the Courage. The match ended 2-1 in Orlando's favor. The Pride (8-10-1) now sits just one point out of sixth place; they'll be fighting for the final playoff spot with only three matches remaining. The next game scheduled for the Pride is against Angel City FC in LA on October 2, 2023.

On Friday night at Exploria Stadium, the Orlando Pride defeated the OL Reign, ending with a score of 1-0. The lone goal was scored in the 15th minute when Kerry Abello passed a leading ball to Julie Doyle on the left flank. Doyle took on her defender in a 1v1 situation, executed a string of creative moves, and cut to her right beating the Reign defender. Doyle crossed a curling ball to forward Messiah Bright, who made a well-timed run and forcefully headed the ball into the back of the net. This was Bright's fourth goal, with Doyle providing the assist. In the past two matches, Doyle has scored two goals and given one assist for the Pride. Orlando Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse made two saves during the match earning the clean sheet.

Orlando Pride forward Julie Doyle was named NWSL Player of the Week for her outstanding performance against the Washington Spirit this past weekend. The 24-year-old scored two goals in the first 16 minutes of the Pride's 3-0 win. It was Doyle's first NWSL career brace. Doyle had missed a significant amount of the season due to an ankle injury. Her resurgence is a positive development for Orlando and should strengthen the Pride's attacking capabilities as they head into the last half of the season.

Forward Julie Doyle led the way for the Pride against Washington Spirit, recording her first NWSL professional brace just 16 minutes into the match. The first goal came in the eighth minute when Pride's Kylie Strom crossed the ball to Haley McCutcheon; McCutcheon fought off her defender and got her head on it, but the Spirit's goalie, Nicole Barnhart, blocked the attempt. As the ball left Barnhart's hands, a Spirit defender tried to clear it, but it fell back into the box. Doyle pounced on it, striking the ball on the half-volley with a rocket shot into the back of the net beyond a diving Barnhart for a Pride 1-0 lead. Doyle scored her second goal eight minutes later, making it the fastest brace in a regular NWSL season match since August 2021. Erika Tymrak assisted Doyle's second goal, her third assist of the season. Tymrak played the ball to Doyle, making a run down the left side; Doyle goes 1v1 against Sprit's defender, cutting back to her right, and shoots a sliced ball that curves past Barnhart, finding the far-side netting for the brace. In the second half, Ally Watt's pressure from the left resulted in an own goal, securing the 3-0 victory for Orlando Pride.

Orlando Pride forward Julie Doyle made her return to the pitch during Chicago Red Stars match on May 27. Doyle, recently released from a 45-day disabled list, entered the match as a second-half substitute in the 61' minute. Doyle had not played since the beginning of April, having missed the last two months due to injury on April 2 against Angel City FC. Doyle had one shot on goal for the night; at the 64' minute, a long airball from Mikayla Cluff found Doyle split between two Chicago defenders. Doyle brought the ball down with one touch and took a shot as Chicago's goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher came off her line for the save. The play was called offsides but would have been VAR reviewed. In the 89' minute, Doyle runs down a ball from Summer Yates to the end-line and crosses it to the feet of Ally Watt near the six, Watt turns and takes a shot, but the attempt goes wide of the goal. The Orlando Pride dominated the match, posting a season-high 19 shots on the night, but fell to Chicago in a 1-0 decision. Head Coach Seb Hines expressed disappointment with the match result but was pleased to see Doyle back with the team.

The Orlando Pride and forward Julie Doyle have agreed to a new two-year contract, signing the player through the 2024 season, it was announced today. “Julie has proven to be a vital player in our attack and critical to the hardworking and tenacious culture we’re building,” Orlando Pride VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Haley Carter said. “Her ability to challenge a back line and her desire to take on the opposition will create goal scoring opportunities for us. She fully invested in herself in the off-season and is committed to the future we are creating here. We’re very excited to keep her in Orlando and to continue to help her grow both on the field and off.”

Julie Doyle sustained an ankle injury in the 19th minute of Orlando's home opener against Angel City FC. While racing to settle a long airball from Pride keeper Anna Moorhouse along the sideline, LA Defender Paige Nielsen made a hard tackle on Doyle, resulting in a yellow card for Nielsen. As Doyle fell to the ground, her ankle jammed into the sideline sideboard, causing the injury. Doyle was forced to exit the match and has been placed on the 45-day disabled list. It is expected that the Pride attacker will require several weeks of rehabilitation to recover from her injury.

The Orlando Pride hosts Kansas City Current for their annual Open Preseason Friendly. The Pride got off to a great start. Forty seconds into the match, Messiah Bright, in the midfield, dribbles toward the Kansas City box, where she finds Julie Doyle making a run in; Bright links with Doyle, who beats Current goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz to the ball, putting it past her to give the Pride a 1-0 lead. The second goal came in the 63rd minute; Summer Yates played a through ball for Ally Watt, who shielded her defender and placed it in the goal—for the Pride 2-0 win.
BRADENTON, FL. - FEB 18, 2023
Orlando Pride met up with Gotham FC on Saturday afternoon in their first test of the 2023 preseason. The closed-door friendly at the IMG Academy started with a quick strike from Erika Tymrak's scoring a goal in the third minute, with the assist from Julie Doyle. The second goal came in the 41st minute by Doyle in a decisive 2-0 Orlando victory.
