ABOUT

MEET JULIE

PROFESSIONAL SOCCER PLAYER

Julie plays for the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League. Selected in the first round as the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft out of Santa Clara University, Julie joined Orlando ahead of the 2022 season. Prior to her rookie campaign, she spent four months training full-time with the London City Lionesses in London, England. She has since signed three contract extensions with Orlando and is currently under contract through the 2026 season.

Since her debut on April 16, 2022, Julie has featured primarily as a winger, with occasional appearances at center forward. Her game is characterized by intelligent off-the-ball movement, strong 1v1 ability, one-touch passing, sharp combination play, quality service, and composed finishing in the attacking third.

While her primary focus is driving the attack through effective link-up play, Julie also brings a strong defensive understanding, disciplined work rate, and sound tactical awareness.

With 16 goal contributions across all competitions and more than 80 professional appearances, Julie has been part of Orlando’s success across multiple seasons. Her individual honors include NWSL Player of the Week and multiple Player of the Match selections.

2024 NWSL NATIONAL CHAMPION AND SHIELD WINNER

During a historic 2024 season that saw the Pride capture both the NWSL Championship and the Shield, Julie appeared in 25 of Orlando's 26 regular-season matches, making 21 starts. She also featured in all three playoff matches and all three NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup games. Across all competitions, she recorded 3 goals and 3 assists while contributing in multiple attacking roles throughout Orlando's championship-winning campaign.

It was the first time since 2019 that an NWSL club had completed the Championship and Shield double. The Pride also became Orlando's first major professional sports team to win a league championship. The title capped a historic season in which Orlando set league records for points (60), wins (18), and clean sheets (13), while remaining unbeaten at home with a 10-0-3 regular-season record.

2025 NWSL SEMIFINALIST

After navigating a challenging start to the 2025 season due to an early injury that sidelined her for nine games, Julie returned to full fitness and remained ready to contribute throughout the remainder of the regular season. Julie made her biggest impact during the postseason, where she moved into the starting lineup for Orlando’s playoff run. Her added presence provided an important link between the midfield and front line, helping strengthen the team’s attacking flow.

In the 17th minute of the Quarterfinal victory over Seattle, Julie nearly opened the scoring with a first-time effort off a difficult cross. Shortly after, in the 21st minute, Julie and Marta broke Seattle's defensive line through a well-timed give-and-go. Julie found Marta in a pocket of space and played a connecting pass to her feet before making a run in behind. Marta returned a perfectly weighted ball, and Julie delivered a composed one-touch service that unlocked the opposition for Haley McCutcheon's incredible winning goal.

This chemistry continued into the Semifinals against Gotham FC. In the 33rd minute, Julie and Marta linked up again, with Julie delivering a dangerous low cross to Jacquie Ovalle at the far post. The sequence created one of the match’s best scoring opportunities.

By combining with experienced playmakers such as Marta and Ovalle, Julie's added playoff presence helped heighten the fluid attacking style that defined the club's 2024 Championship-winning season. Across Orlando’s two playoff matches, Julie completed 80.6% of her passes while helping connect the midfield and front line under postseason pressure.

2020 NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPION AND CO-CAPTAIN

Before turning professional, Julie completed a four-year collegiate career at Santa Clara University. She earned All-West Region First Team honors, was a three-time All-WCC selection, and was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team. In her senior season, Coach Jerry Smith named Julie Team Co-Captain, recognizing her as an important member of the Broncos’ leadership group.

During Santa Clara’s 2020 NCAA Championship season, Julie scored the game-winning goal in an upset victory over No. 13 BYU, a result that celebrated Coach Jerry Smith’s 500th career win and helped strengthen the Broncos’ position heading into the NCAA Tournament. In the NCAA Tournament, Julie consistently created attacking opportunities, including a standout performance against Arkansas where she repeatedly beat defenders 1v1, contributing to both goals in a 2-0 third-round victory.

On May 17, 2021, Julie and Santa Clara upset top-seeded Florida State to win the 2020 NCAA Division I National Championship following a 1-1 draw through overtime. Julie converted Santa Clara’s opening penalty in the championship shootout, giving the Broncos a 1-0 advantage and marking the first opening-round penalty conceded by Florida State during the tournament. Santa Clara converted all four of its penalties to secure the program’s first national championship since 2001. Julie was later named to the 2020 NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team.

Julie has represented the United States at the U15, U18, U19, and U20 levels. She attended fifteen domestic national team camps and eight international camps, appearing in twenty-one matches.

In 2016, Julie was named an alternate for the United States squad at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. As a senior in high school, she traveled with the team to Australia and Papua New Guinea.
