Orlando Pride forward Julie Doyle was named NWSL Player of the Week for her outstanding performance against the Washington Spirit this past weekend. The 24-year-old scored two goals in the first 16 minutes of the Pride's 3-0 win. It was Doyle's first NWSL career brace. Doyle had missed a significant amount of the season due to an ankle injury. Her resurgence is a positive development for Orlando and should strengthen the Pride's attacking capabilities as they head into the last half of the season.

Orlando Pride has signed 2022 NWSL Draft selection Julie Doyle. The forward was selected by the Pride at No.11 overall this past December out of Santa Clara University. “We are very pleased to add Julie to the squad this year and excited to see how her qualities complement our existing group,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said. “We were fortunate enough to have Julie train with us for a short period over the summer and what we saw first-hand, beyond what we already knew of her accomplishments in college and at the youth national team level, gave us the confidence to make her a priority target in the draft this year. NWSL Draft 2022
LOS ANGELES, CA. - DEC 18, 2021
The Orlando Pride drafts Santa Clara forward Julie Doyle in the first-round, picked 11th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft. "I'm really happy Orlando selected me!" Doyle said about being drafted by the Pride. "I'm so excited to get started! It's a great opportunity, and I'm prepared to make an impact right away!"
Orlando Pride Head Coach Amanda Cromwell:
"Obviously, I'm really familiar with Julie Doyle, she's a Santa Clara player. We play them every year. She has a lot of versatility to her game. She's athletic. She can get in behind. Julie goes at you 1-v-1 and can offer a lot of different components to our attack. She's also a good defender as a forward. She has a bite to her. She has grit...and she'll fight to get into the lineup, and I love that. I think her mentality will work really well."
