EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS
JUL 5, 2023
Orlando Pride forward Julie Doyle was named NWSL Player of the Week for her outstanding performance against the Washington Spirit this past weekend. The 24-year-old scored two goals in the first 16 minutes of the Pride's 3-0 win. It was Doyle's first NWSL career brace. Doyle had missed a significant amount of the season due to an ankle injury. Her resurgence is a positive development for Orlando and should strengthen the Pride's attacking capabilities as they head into the last half of the season.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - JUL 1, 2023
Forward Julie Doyle led the way for the Pride against Washington Spirit, recording her first NWSL professional brace just 16 minutes into the match. The first goal came in the eighth minute when Pride's Kylie Strom crossed the ball to Haley McCutcheon; McCutcheon fought and got her head on it, but the Spirit's goalie, Nicole Barnhart, blocked the attempt. As the ball left Barnhart's hands, a Spirit defender tried to clear it, but it fell back into the box. Doyle pounced on it, striking the ball with a rocket shot into the back of the net beyond a diving Barnhart for a Pride 1-0 lead. Doyle scored her second goal eight minutes later, making it the fastest brace in a regular NWSL season match since August 2021. Erika Tymrak assisted Doyle's second goal, her third assist of the season. Tymrak played the ball to Doyle, making a run down the left side; Doyle goes 1v1 against Sprit's defender, cutting back to her right, and shoots a sliced ball that curves past Barnhart, finding the far-side netting for the brace. In the second half, Ally Watt's pressure from the left resulted in an own goal, securing the 3-0 victory for Orlando Pride.

This was Bright's fourth goal, with Doyle providing the assist. In the past two matches, Doyle has scored two goals and given one assist for the Pride. Orlando Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse made two saves during the match earning the clean sheet.
ORLANDO, FL. SEP 17, 2023
Julie Doyle's assists Adriana's goal for a 2-0 lead for the Pride in the 32nd minute. "I saw Marta get it, and whenever Marta gets it on her left foot, that means I got to run into the backspace because I know that she can find me through, and that's what she did," Doyle said about the play leading to the goal. "I saw Adriana had a ton of space in behind because they were really high, and Adriana is so fast, and I'm just like, all I have to do is get it to her, and I know that she'll do great things." The Pride opened the scoring just 39 seconds into the match with a goal from Ally Watt. In the 52nd minute, NC Matsukubo scored the only goal for the Courage. The match ended 2-1 in Orlando's favor. The Pride (8-10-1) now sits just one point out of sixth place; they'll be fighting for the final playoff spot with only three matches remaining. The next game scheduled for the Pride is against Angel City FC in LA on October 2, 2023.
